>What is the current status in the field of SmartHome technology?

The intelligent control of electrical appliances is becoming an increasingly important topic. A variety of switches and lamps are already available. All these devices have one thing in common:

You need to connect to the wireless router or to a control center, which is usually called a hub or gateway. As a control, the smartphone is used, without connection to the smartphone control is hardly possible. This is due to the radio protocols used, in most cases the devices are connected with ZigBee, ZWave or DECT radio protocols. The disadvantages of SmartHome controllers via smartphone and voice assistant are obvious:

The main task of the development of SmartHomeTab was the creation of a control system that works without the existing disadvantages of the otherwise acclaimed SmartHome technology.

This was achieved by having the remote switches work directly with the control center, without the intervening of the other gateways and hubs and servers.

The signals of the switches and the control center are exchanged directly by Bluetosec radio signal. The basis for the Bluetosec radio technology was the Wireless world standard Bluetooth LE and developed into a radio protocol that can be used in switches, transmitters, sensors, and mobile terminals such as smartphones and tablet PCs. As a result, all devices can communicate directly with each other using Bluetosec wireless technology Wireless range is up to 50m in buildings and in Outdoor up to 250m.

The intelligent control of electric appliances will become more and more important in the coming years. For this control, the terms smart home and IoT (Internet of Things) have become established. Looking more closely at the products currently available on the market, one quickly realizes that the control functions are still quite limited.

This is mainly due to the wireless technologies used, which make it impossible for the devices to work directly with the mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. It always requires the detour via intermediary routers, hubs, gateways (these are the control centers), DSL Internet connections and servers. This applies to all devices that work with the radio signals ZigBee, ZWave, DECT, EnOcean.

And if there is no WLAN connection, the devices can no longer be controlled. This is particularly problematic in the security field, because often the burglar first initiates a short circuit in order to set electrical safety measures exclusively. And since most DSL routers have no emergency power supply, nothing works.

Often the products do not offer "IFTTT" control (if this than that = if this happens, this is supposed to happen), meaning that the user can freely set when and what should happen.

  • Bluetooth LE consumes so little power even with high wireless range that most devices can be supplied with batteries or rechargeable batteries for 1 year and more.
New solutions

Taking all these factors into consideration, the Alarmtab GmbH decided years ago to use the Bluetooth LE (low energy) radio standard when developing new smart home control systems.

Under the name Bluetosec, a new, patented radio technology has been developed that enables the production of a comprehensive range of sensors and smart home switches for all applications. This eliminates the mentioned limitations and problems completely. With the developed Bluetosec radio technology and the extensive product assortment the AlarmTab GmbH occupies a leading position in the international market of fast growing smart home systems.

SmartHome means: intelligent, clever. Therefore, it is important that the switches can be programmed and switched not only via the control panel but also arbitrarily according to the "IFTTT" principle (if this than that if this happens).

Therefore in SmartHomeTab it is possible to link all SmartHome switches with the following parameters without any restrictions:
